Windows Viewer Prompt to Open or Save MS Office Document Instead of Opening Within the Windows Viewer
Each time a user tries to open and view MS Office files in the Windows Viewer, there is a prompt that shows up asking to Open or Save the file. The document does not open/display in the Windows Viewer, it will only display outside the Windows Viewer.
This is a Windows security feature. Disabling this prompt can be done at your own risk.
The attached registry file will disable the prompt for DOCX, DOC, XLS, and XLSX files.
After downloading > Right click the zip file > Properties > Unblock > OK. Double click the registry file to run it. You must have local admin authority to update the registry.
If after you apply the OpenInBrowser registry and you still get a prompt to Open or Save the file, do a complete uninstall / reinstall of the FileBound viewer.
